1. Currency Regulation

There is no limit to the amount of foreign currency imported into Ethiopia, but it must be declared. Foreign currency may be changed only at authorized banks and hotels. The currency declaration form will be required by customs on departure. Visitors may change back excess birr in to foreign currency at the airport before departure, but you have to bring with you all receipts. For exchange transaction foreign exchange services are available at the arrival lounge.

2.Customs Regulations

Duty free imports are permitted for up to

1. 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or ½ Ib of tobacco.
2. 2 litters of alcoholic beverages.
3. Half litter or two bottles of perfume, in addition, visitors may export souvenirs, although some articles (like animal skin) requires an export permit.

3.Health requirement

Visitors should be in possession of valid health certificate for yellow fever, vaccination against cholera is also required for any person who has visited or transited a cholera-infected with in six days prior to arrival in Ethiopia.

4.Security

Security at the airport is very tight and travelers need to produce their air ticket and passport to enter the terminal buildings. All other visitors are required to pay fee of three Ethiopian Birr at the booths located in the parking lot and need to show identification cards at the guard post.
